They are real life superheroes actress Noxolo Dlamini on whistle blowers

Dlamini plays the role of a journalist on ‘Death of a Whistleblower’, a film that zooms into the life of informers. The headlines that come with the exposés are sexy and pique audiences’ interest, but the ones who pay the biggest price are the whistle-blowers who live a lonely and often times a short life after speaking out. Speaking to The Citizen, actress Noxolo Dlamini reflected on the lives of informers after playing the role of a journalist in a new film, Death of a Whistleblower. “They are real life superheroes. Putting your life at risk like that is not something to be taken lightly. It’s insane what happens to whistle-blowers,” Dlamini told The Citizen.

Known Associates Entertainment, the production company behind the South African adaptation of the Colombian telenovela that inspired “Ugly Betty,” is partnering with Ivory Coast public broadcaster RTI on a sci-fi drama series that marks the first co-production between the two countries, Variety has learned. “Ambre” will be shot in South Africa and in Ivory Coast with actors from both countries, with a script written in both English and French. ‘Ugly Betty’ to Receive South African Remake (EXCLUSIVE)

“Betty La Fea,” the megahit Colombian telenovela that inspired the ABC series “Ugly Betty,” has been optioned by South Africa’s Known Associates Entertainment for a local adaptation.
