About us
Known Associates Entertainment (KAE) is a Television and Film Production company committed to making content for global audiences. Known Associates Entertainment forms part of the Known Associates Group (KAG), founded by Entrepreneur and Producer, Tshepiso Chikapa Phiri in 2014. KAE was established in 2018 as part of KAG’s expansion strategy and is a partnership with Tshepiso Chikapa Phiri – who is the sole shareholder making KAE a 100% black female owned company. Renowned film financier and Executive Producer, Joel Phiri, is the company’s chairperson.
KAE develops and produces original in-house content across genres with a wide range of partners. These include Amazon Prime Video, ETV, Netflix SABC, VIU, Canal Plus, the National Empowerment Fund, Indigenous Film Distribution, National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF), the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition and more.
Through innovative ways of financing, ranging from equity, production and acquisition finance, capital guarantees and bridging, KAE is your first-choice partner for quality films and television series produced on and from the African continent.
